Weddings
Weddings are a big part of Eddie's fourth stage in heaven which is the resting place of Eddie's wife. She chose to stay in endless weddings from all around the world. Their own wedding was nothing special because neither one could afford much money, but it still meant as much to each other as a big budget wedding would have. The most memorable thing about their wedding is that it had an accordion player there and only a few friends and family members. The bride and groom walked home after the ceremony. The importance of this is that weddings mean promise for the future from one person to another. It is important to the book because most of the time after the war Marguerite is the only thing that keeps Eddie going in life. The wedding shows that things can be simplistic but very meaningful just like Eddie's life.
